What are Canongate Golf Clubs?
Canongate is a very special collection of private golf clubs that started in the Atlanta, Georgia area, known for providing a quality golf membership experience at an affordable price. Canongate is also known for its unique reciprocity privileges that allow members to play all of the golf courses in its portfolio. Canongate represents quality, variety and value.

How does the golf club reciprocity work?
Members can play golf at all Canongate Atlanta locations, but have priority access to weekend tee times at their “home club." To learn more about this, see the Membership Pricing section. At Canongate-managed properties such as The Frog, Smoke Rise and Cateechee, members receive some access at a reduced rate. For detailed information on access, play rates, and tee time booking, please click on any of the previously listed Club pages to visit that particular Club’s information page

Has the Canongate concept proven to be successful and stable?
The Canongate golf clubs have operated under the same structure in and around Atlanta for over 45 years and currently serve thousands of member families. The clubs' Atlanta golf courses are known for quality and host prestigious events such as U.S. Open qualifiers, State Amateur qualifiers and the Georgia Women’s Open. Due to the system’s unique benefits and value, member satisfaction and loyalty are high.

Do family members have club privileges?
All membership categories (golf memberships & social memberships) include the primary member, the primary member’s spouse and any children that are under the age of 25 and living at home. This means the entire family can enjoy access to championship Atlanta golf, refreshing pools, world class tennis, and social and dining privileges at our Club restaurants.  (Pool and tennis not available at all locations.)

What is the difference between the Associate Golf and Full Golf membership categories?
The only difference is Associate Golf Members are charged lower monthly dues and pay a member greens fee when playing golf at their “home club." For Full Golf Members, the greens fee for golf played at their home club is included in the dues structure. Both Associate and Full Golf members are charged a nominal member greens fee when playing outside their “home club” and pay a fee when using a golf cart. For more information, view the Golf Membership Pricing section of the website.

Do the clubs have driving ranges?
Each of our golf clubs has a quality driving range, short game practice area and practice putting greens that are open whenever the Club is. All new golf members will be automatically enrolled in our annual driving range program. The program provides the entire family with unlimited access to range balls at all of our Atlanta locations for just $180 per year, plus tax. While entry is automatic, at certain clubs the program is optional for members that joined prior to 12/01/05.

Does the club host member golf events?
Each of our private golf clubs hosts many golf events throughout the year! These events range from club championships and member-members to member-guests and pro-amateurs. Our goal in planning and formatting these events at the clubs is to ensure that players of all skill levels can compete and enjoy themselves. Serious competitors have no fear -- you will also find plenty of opportunities to test your skills against other talented golfers.

Does the club have member leagues?
League play is a great way to meet other members and participate in a regularly scheduled game. The clubs have several different types of leagues including ones designed specifically for men, ladies, couples and seniors.

Does the club offer golf instruction?
Whether you have never picked up a golf club in your life or you are considering trying to make it on the Tour for next year, our instructors through the Canongate Performance Centers can provide you with a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Several Canongate clubs offer tennis courts that can be lighted for night play. There is no charge for member use of the courts. Most locations offer drill sessions and group lessons, as well as private lessons. Many of the clubs host ALTA and USTA teams for those who are interested in league play.

Full service evening dining is offered at some clubs and on special occasions.

What pools are included with the membership?

Members are welcome to bring guests to any of our Atlanta golf clubs. A guest greens fee will be charged for the guest’s round of golf. Guest fees for each club are listed here on our Atlanta Golf Course Guest Fees Chart.  Certain restrictions also apply to guest use of the pool and tennis facilities.

Can members walk the course when playing golf?
Most clubs allow walking during the week and on weekend afternoons. The clubs require carts on weekend mornings and holidays in season. Check with the Pro Shop at each club for specific times when walking is allowed. Click here to download a pdf that details walking times and options.

Do members have a club charge account?
Members can charge just about any club fee to their membership account. The club mails a statement each month that outlines the applicable charges for the period.

Is there a food and beverage minimum?
Members have a small $10 monthly food and beverage minimum.

What is the club’s resignation policy?
One of the great things about the Canongate program is that members are not locked into a long-term commitment and can easily exit the club if needed. After the membership commitment is satisfied, the club simply requires a 30-day written notice for resignations. Members are responsible for applicable dues and charges during the 30-day notice period.
