Chapel Hills Golf Club
Chapel Hills, located just west of Atlanta in Douglasville, Georgia, has been delighting Canongate members and guests ever since it opened in 1992. Clustered with another member favorite, Mirror Lake, the Chapel Hills cluster is one of the most popular in our Atlanta collection of championship golf courses.
Chapel Hills was a difficult course to design, as course designers Rocky Roquemore and Jeff Burton were required to navigate through steep hills and numerous granite outcroppings, so typical in the state of Georgia.

The end result is a course that is as pleasing aesthetically as it is challenging from a golfer’s perspective. Chapel Hills is known for its signature double green on which golfers can complete both the front and back nines. The undulating double green on holes 9 and 18, as well as every other green on the course, are some of the best kept and fastest in the area.
Chapel Hills is currently closed on Mondays. Walking is permitted after 3:00 PM on weekends/holidays.

Ron Weaver, 3/2/2013 7:41:07 PM EST I have noticed Chapel Hills made some improvements to the range, including short game flags at the upper and lower level. Good work superintendent!!!
Phil Metzger, 2/27/2013 1:23:32 PM EST The course is challenging and I like the layout. I do not like the condition of the greens. According the last review I read via the canongate app I think they had on 2/18/2013 it read that the greens were rolling true...the greens were on horrible shape. Patchy all over. We found ourselves picking up anywhere between 4 feet that's how bad they were. The bunkers were in great shape however. Given that there are a lot of bunkers around the greens it helped to know they were going to be easy to get out of. One other thing that bothered me was a lack of ball washers throughout the course. Maybe it was that we played after a lot of rain and our ball was dirtier than normal but it was something I noticed.
Phillip Ackerman, 7/1/2012 7:49:06 AM EST Right now the course is at its best. The greens are receiving approach shots and rolling good, not as fast as previous year, but a good consistent surface. The rough is 2 inches and ready to eat up your ball, so if you cannot drive it in the fairway, I hope you have been at the gym lately. Driving accuracy is key to having a successful round. Thanks for changing the pin placements, more this season.
Jon Paschetto, 5/21/2012 11:32:41 AM EST Greens were in fabulous shape. Good firmness to greens and they are not too soft that ball mark turf is ripped and torn out and good green speed. Greenskeeper Andrew Nix is making a big difference to the greens. Fairways and tees getting better too. Cut shrubs by number 8 tee should help regain tee. Noticeable improvements throughout course. Cart fleet and paths need improving. Pro Shop service and shop merchandise layout are both excellent!
James Kennedy, 5/17/2012 10:16:26 AM EST Course itself is in nice shape. Rating is mainly on the course management. We were first to tee off, started at 7:30, played 13 holes in 2:30 hours, then came up to 14 tee and had 8 carts waiting. Course management should give an indication of something like this taking place, or at least have a ranger on the course. Pro Shop seemed oblivious to the concerns that we raised to them. Disappointing end to an otherwise nice day!
Christopher Kim, 1/2/2012 8:53:47 PM EST 3.5 stars really...

Joyce Cooksey PPC, 9/12/2011 9:54:21 PM EST To me and my friends CH is one the prettiest layouts in Georgia, and the condition of the course is better than even Cannongate gives them, they have one of the hardest working greens keepers in the USA anytime you visit this course he is there looking after the greens and is very customer oriented.
GA Natl. Player, 8/5/2011 2:11:15 PM EST Overall the course was in excellent shape. Some of the greens are stressed due to hot weather. Staff was very friendly.
Phil, 7/22/2011 10:57:46 AM EST The greens take a beating with the extreme heat, but the course is a test of golf if you do not find the fairway. Stay out of the rough or start thinking of how you are going to get up and down with a one putt.
Robert, 7/15/2011 7:42:07 PM EST This course is located near me, so I've played no less than 40 rounds here. It is short at around 6500 yards, which is about 1000 yards too long for the avg. golfer but I digress. Unfortunately, they've tried to make up for the shortness with ridiculously difficult multi-tiered greens, and equally obscene pin placements. They should put up a windmill and pirate ship on #9 and #18 to complete the miniature golf effect they are clearly looking for. They have a serious problem with the course being overrun with canadian geese that eat the grass off the greens and crap all over the place as well. The tee boxes are in bad shape and are very uneven. This is all a big shame because the course has the potential to be a fun spot for the avg. golfer to score low and really enjoy him/herself.

Anonymous, 6/27/2011 11:13:31 PM EST Short but in great shape.
Alton Berger, 6/3/2011 2:19:34 PM EST Not as long as most courses but a true test of your course management skills.
John Hannabach, 5/27/2011 12:34:14 PM EST Beautiful and well maintained. Appreciate the effort to keep the goose droppings off!
Gordon Carter, 4/21/2011 7:26:08 AM EST First Class Customer Service. The practice range is in great condition and the greens are well maintained.
Anonymous, 4/20/2011 10:13:54 AM EST Pros: I love the layout! It's very short, but the doglegs and undulation make up for it. The high risk/reward opportunities on almost every hole make it extremely fun to play.
Cons: The drainage is inadequate. You never know what kind of shape it’s going to be in. Over the past two years it's been more bad than good (it's usually better than all the Non-Canongate courses in the area).
David Humer, 4/16/2011 12:05:02 PM EST Nicely laid out course. No forced layouts for any of the holes. Usually well maintained.
